SORGAL enters the Ranking of the Most Profitable Companies

SORGAL, a unit of SOJA DE PORTUGAL, reached 9th place in the ranking of the most profitable companies in the District of Aveiro.

As the most profitable company in the Municipality, SORGAL was honoured to receive Salvador Malheiro, Mayor of Ovar. The main objective was to present the three business areas that are in this industrial unit.

During this visit, João Pedro Azevedo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, had the opportunity to reveal the company's intentions regarding the expansion of the unit, namely the expected investment in the order of five million Euros. This investment will lead to a tripling of the production capacity of the compound feed unit for fish farming. In addition to the productivity issue, the investment will not only increase the number of jobs in areas adjacent to the production area, but also create a shared service center for the group - allowing SORGAL to have 90 employees in the back office area ".

Finally, João Pedro Azevedo said that SORGAL is in counter-cycle with the economic path of the country, showing clear signs of growth. This, in turn, is due in large measure to the increase of external market share.
