João Pedro Azevedo participates in the MAREECOFIN Meeting of PwC

João Pedro Azevedo, Chairman of SOJA DE PORTUGAL's Board of Directors, was present, as a speaker, at the MAREECOFIN - PwC Economics and Finance of the Sea - Spring Meeting, hosted by PwC Portugal at Pestana Palace Hotel.

In a moment of sharing of experiences and knowledge, this initiative allowed a reflection focused on economic and financial issues that affect the financial position of the companies of the sea economy in Portugal. The session was opened by the Minister of Agriculture and the Sea, Assunção Cristas, followed by Miguel Marques, from PwC, who introduced the theme MAREECOFIN, framing the different approaches that would follow.

This event had three luxury panels. The first, moderated by Pedro Pinto of TVI 24 - whose theme focused on the financing and investment challenges of marine economy agents at the present time - included Jorge Freire Cardoso of CGD, Francisco Sousa Soares of SDM and Francisco Oliveira Fernandes, of Banco Carregosa. The second panel discussed the importance of international cooperation and external investment, moderated by Nicolau Santos of Expresso, Miguel Sequeira da DGRM, Kitajima of MITSUI, and Mahomed Iqbal of Andrade Gutierrez.

The third and last panel of the day focused on the theme of "Economic and Financial Sustainability of the Sea Economy Companies in the Medium Term." Miguel Marques, a speaker at PwC, presented a panel constituted by João Pedro Azevedo, SOJA DE PORTUGAL, Jorge Barros Luís, of Montepio, and Luís Marques, of the Port of Aveiro.
